School received "Recycler of the year" Award 2015

The school received GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM AUDIT AWARD as "Recycler of the Year" on 23rd February, 2016 for its environment related initiative in making a "pollution free school" by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) at India Habitat Centre, Delhi. Over 1400 schools participated from all over India and 20 schools were selected in different categories. This is the only school in Ghaziabad to receive the award. Students and teachers received the award from CSE Director General Sunita Narain and Theatre & Film Personality Tom Alter at the Award Ceremony. In a Quiz Content held on the same day conducted by CSE, Nandini Singh of Class IX- A won the first prize.

National Yoga Sports Championship 2016

represented school in NATIONAL YOGA SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 at Vidyagiri Complex, Moodbidri, D.K. Karnataka. The five day event was jointly organized by Yoga Federation of India (Regd. under the Societies Registration Act. XXXI of 1860 regd. no.1195 dated 14.02.90) and Shri Patanjali Yoga ShikshanaPrathistana, Mangaluru, Karnataka in association with Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri and Karnataka State Amateur Yoga Sports Association. 2000 students from 18 states all across the nation participated. The championship witnessed the sprited display of flexibility,strength and body movements where participants got the platform to exhibit the postures to perfection.

U-19 CBSE National Athletic Championship 2015

U-19 CBSE National Athletic Championship was held at N.H. Goal World School, Raipur, Munafsar Chaudhary of Class XI-B represented in 200m Race from 26th Dec ‘2015 to 30th Dec ‘2015.Around 2500 athletes of 728 CBSE Schools participated enthusiastically in this mega sporting event in the presence of the great Cricketing Legend Yusuf Pathan who was invited as Chief Guest.


The selected students of essay writing competition conducted by Nanhi Chhaan got an opportunity to attend a personality development programme at Neemrana. Four students Aastha Sharma, Piyush Dafaoti, Arukshita Tyagi and Vashishtha Shukla of class X along with a teacher Ms. Mamta attended five days programme at NIIT Neemrana, Rajasthan. Learning outcomes:
  1. Students experienced a connect between physical and mental self by visiting “Sunset” on the rooftop named as “Astachal”.Air Cmde Kamal Singh (Retd.) interacted with the students on the relevance of it.
  2. Students participated in sports events like table tennis, basketball, badminton, trekking to learn team spirit and leadership skills.
  3. They were involved in digitalised learning by framing and editing audio visual clips, laying down networks and assembling hardware components to assemble PC.
  4. The students visited “Bio Tech” lab where they observed the growth of bacteria and DNA, under modulating temperature which is beyond the lab understanding.
  5. The students witnessed “Geo-thermal plant”, an eco- friendly technique of maintaining the temperature of the campus. Students walked along the air tunnel that spreads the air captured through atmosphere in the area of 125meters, with controlled velocity and pressure. It then moves into the chillers to further cool down and then spread around in all the rooms of the campus through ducts in order to maintain the temperature at 250 C. throughout the year. This is how the environment of campus remains pollution free.
  6. The selection process and challenges of the campus life by interacting with students of B.Tech and M.Tech, NIIT.

They shared ideas and debate on issues of national importance via a mix of academic, co-curricular, extracurricular, cultural, sports activities and interactive classroom sessions.

A platform for open discussion platform was provided where the parents and students enquired about the future prospects in different fields, asserting the importance of being realistic in life and classifying goals.


Salwan Public School, Ghaziabad, Cricket-Team of 13 Students won 18th DPS Inter School Cricket Tournament 2015 organized by DPS, Ghaziabad on 24th Dec’ 2015 defeating Ryan International School, Ghaziabad by 14 Runs. In the previous matches, the school won the quarter finals defeating the students D.P.S. (B) Ghaziabad and G.D. Goenka, Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad by 38 runs and 185 runs respectively. In the semifinals the school defeated D.P.S.(A) Ghaziabad by 7 runs Ayush Tyagi (class X) and Nikhil Bhat (class XII) were awarded as Best player and Man of the Match respectively for their remarkable performance. The win was highlighted in almost all the Hindi (Dailies) newspapers which brought glories to the School. The School has been rated as the Cricket Champion of Ghaziabad.


Fifty students from classes X & XI participated in largest-science practical conducted at IIT campus, Delhi on 7th December, 2015. The event was organized by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), the country’s largest science movement, as part of the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2015. Around 2000 students from 50 eminent schools at Delhi and NCR participated in the same at the sprawling lawns of Indian Institute of Technology. The session was addressed by Hon’ble Minister Science & Technology Shri Harsh Vardhan. Speaking to the students they highlighted the importance of Science and emphasized on being innovative in the approach. Dressed in white lab-coats, students conducted two science practicals which were related to catalysis- a process that makes chemical reactions faster without any additional input of energy and is extensively used in manufacturing some 90% products used in the world today. The detail of the two experiments done by the students is as under-
  • Elephant Tooth Experiment- It was the major feature of the exercise was in which hydrogen peroxide underwent catalytic decomposition in the presence of iodide, resulting in the liberation of a large amount of oxygen and foaming up to resemble a giant toothpaste being squeezed.
  • • Discolouration Experiment- The other experiment was discolouration of methylene blue by hydrogen peroxide.

The participating students were addressed by Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan and Union Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani.


Fourteen students participated in Inter Salwan Social Science Competition. The competition was held in six different categories Debate, Poster making, Model making, Brochure making, Graffiti Making and Heritage quiz. Four students Deepanshu Choudhary (X-B), Atishay Jain(X-B),Vashisht Shukla(X-B) and Parth V Sharma (XI-A) made the school proud by winning the First prize in the category “Graffiti Making” in which they beautifully highlighted the life struggle of the Founder Father, Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan. In an another event Prayag Bhatnagar(XI-A),Yash Prakash Yadav(XI-B) and Ayushman Sharma(XI-B) won Third position in Heritage quiz.


A Kho-Kho team, girls, participated and qualified for the II round in CBSE Kho Kho Cluster III (Girls) Meet held from 1st-3rd November, 2015 at Modi Nagar, Ghaziabad. Around 600 girls from 50 schools participated in the meet. Details of event participants:


Student’s participation in Melange 2015, held at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School from 29th - 30th October came out to be the harbinger of good news for the School. In various categories, Verbosity - Enactment on Proverbs & Idioms in action, Strokes, Clinch-A-Deal-Affinity with advertisements, Makeover – Fancy Dress, Moves -Heal the world, 35 Schools participated.

Students attained Second position in 'Moves' - Heal the world and Third position in 'Verbosity'- Enactment on Proverbs & Idioms in action.


Six girls participated in CBSE ATHLETIC CLUSTER III (GIRLS) MEET held from 27th -30th October, 2015 at Mawana, Meerut. The meet was attended by 800 participants from 70 schools. Details of event participants:

Young Gymnasts flying the skies of glory

The School made a huge landmark by clinching the Team Championship Trophy in 13th Zonal Gymnastics Championship 2015 held at Govt. Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, Block-4, Subhash Nagar Delhi from 25th to 27th September 2015. Shivam Bansal of VIII B made the school proud by winning 1 gold and 2 silvers in the category floor exercise whereas Mayank Singh(VII B) and Nehul Sahrawat(VIII B) secured One medal each.

Triumphant Athletes

It was a moment of immense pride for the School when Shreya of Class IV-B won the Gold Medal in the flat race , Meet Sharma of Class II-C bagged Silver Medal in the Hurdle race and Ayush Dutt of Class III won the Bronze Medal in 80 M Obstacle Race in 5th Junior Athletic Meet held at SPS Rajender Nagar hosted by SPS Naraiana. Around 600 participants from 35 schools took part in the event.

In the succession of achieving the great heights in sports, the school won 6 golds,1 silver and 2 bronze medals in the Inter - School Taekwondo Championship, 2015 held at Noida Stadium on 17th October , 2015.The names of the winners are as under-


The students participated in Inter Salwan Science Fest “Scientific Panorama 2015” held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at SPS Gurgaon. An array of events and competitions were organized as a part of this fest. The objective was to usher the creative thinking skills, intellect of the children, expressions and scientific temperament. Various activities were held such as 'Kabad Se Jugaad' and Poster Making for the classes IV - V. The second group (VI-VIII) was: Buzzers (Quiz Competition) and Ignite your mind(Brainstorming activity). The third Group (IX-XII) gave Paper Presentation on the topic : Robotics in Surgery, Journey to Mars and Tech Fusion. The students in the category (IV-V) made the school proud by winning the second prize in Poster Making Competition. To develop scientific and observation skills among students, various scientific activities were also conducted such as separating chalk powder from sugar, magnet from tea leaves, golden rain and fire without matchstick, Display and uses of medicinal plants like dalchini, tulsi. Interesting games like water melon hunt, blow the ball, puzzles were also conducted for young scientists.


The 3 students of the school Munafsar ChoudharyX(XI), Danish Choudhary (XI) and Rahul Baisoya(XI) participated in 49th U. P. State Annual Athletics Championship 2015 held at Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow on 12th & 13th September 2015. A student, Munafsar Choudhary made the school proud by clinching the 4th position in the final 200 m race amongst 148 athletes.




The students of our school won the Cricket Tournament by defeating Apex Public School , Burari by 5 wickets. The tournament held at Apex Cricket Ground from 11th June- 18th July’2015

Our Cricket Team defeated Little Fairy Public School, North Campus by 3-0, and won the Three Day Series held in the month of June 2015.

The school was conferred with the prestigious CBSE Sports Promotion Award 2013-14 for its remarkable support and contribution in the field of games and sports. The award was received by the Principal and the Vice Principal from Hon’ble Smt Smriti Irani, HRD Minister in a conventional ceremony on 4th September 2014.


The school participated in Ghaziabad District Kids Athletic Meet, 2015 held at DPS, Ghaziabad from 12th to 15th May,2015.The 4-day mega event was divided into 2 categories i.e. for juniors 12th & 13th May,2015 and for seniors 14th & 15th May,2015.There were 465 participants from 17 schools of the district Ghaziabad.

The students of our school made us proud by winning 22 gold, 21 silver and 16 bronze medals.

The " 32 UP STATE YOGA CHAMPOINSHIP, 2014" was organized at Green Land Public School , Vijyant Khand , Lucknow from 5th- 7th October,2014 , in which many districts of Uttar Pradesh took part. The competition started on 6th October. Justice N.K Malhotra ( Retd. Judge , Allahabad High Court )was the Chief Guest in the Opening and Closing Ceremony. Mr. Shiv Singh Yadav was the Guest of Honour. Swati of Class VIII participated in three events and won Gold Medal in Rhythmic Yoga . Silver Medal in Athletic Yoga and Bronze Medal in Artistic yoga. Mansi Singh of class VII participated in Athletic Yoga and won Bronze Medal in the same. Bagging maximum medals The district Ghaaziabad won the First Position , The district Sharanpur was the First runner up and the district Shamli won was the second runner up. Swati Singh and Mansi Singh of our school are selected for Nationals Yoga Championship to be held in Hyderabad.

Two students participated in online Nanhi Chhaan Essay Contest 2014 on the topic ‘Dowry is immoral and illegal’. Devansh of class XI qualified among top 30 students of the country. He has been offered an opportunity to attend a Personality Development program at NIIT University,Alwar , Rajasthan in December,2014.

Wizards And Winners Of Tech Biz

Five students of the school, Arthak Kumar, Yash Prakash Yadav, Animesh Mabi, Rishab Rawat, Parth maitrey, participated in Category B of Tech Biz Competition held at DPS Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad. The competition was conducted for the naming and product launching. The students won Third Position and bagged the trophy by naming their product ”Blaze Operating system in collaboration with Hope to Humanity”.

Science Quest, July 2014

2 students of our school presented papers at science quest organised by SPS Gurgaon, on 26th July 2014 on the topic is creation of designer babies wrong wherein Yash Kumar was awarded with the 4th position in the best answer category. 32 students participated from 16 prestigious schools from Delhi & NCR.

Science Vigyan Prasar -

“KHUD BUDH, KHEL VIGYAN KE” -2nd August 2014

With the mission to popularize Science and encourage children to “Learn By Doing” Science Game Show for Vigyan Prasar, Department Of Science And Technology, Govt. Of India, wasconducted in which 22 students of Classes VI and VIII participated. This programme was filmed in our School campus and will be the part of “Khudbud, Khel Vigyan Ke” – which is a series of 52 episodes. Eminent Scientists and Institutes are part of this Venture. The programme is scheduled for telecast on Lok Sabha T.V., Rajya Sabha T.V. and DD Bharti.
The students of our School participated and demonstrated two working models – “Extraction of Diesel from Waste Tyre” and “Extraction of Glucose from Sucrose by Pyroelectrolysis” in State Level CBSE Science Exhibition.

Our Budding Artist :

Vaibhav Rathi of Class XI is a budding artist, good in canvass colours and oil painting. One of his paintings was highly appreciated and purchased by one of our staff member. His artistic wonders were showcased in the CBSE Cluster III East Zone Athletic Meet (girls).
