The Humanities Department of Salwan Public School, Tronica City, hosted an insightful session titled “Aaghaz-E-Inquilab: Dastan-E-Dilli” led by heritage expert Ms. Leher Zaidi. The session focused on the 1857 Revolt, India’s First War of Independence. Ms. Zaidi began by sharing fascinating anecdotes from Mughal India, including the Kohinoor diamond’s connection to Delhi’s fate. She highlighted key figures like Mangal Pandey and Bakht Khan and their vision for a constitutional monarchy. Through a visual presentation of historical sites such as the Red Fort and Kashmiri Gate, Ms. Zaidi illustrated the strategic significance of Delhi during the rebellion, emphasizing the challenges faced by British forces.
