As countries are gearing up to restore the ecological balance, the need of the hour is to sensitise the students about climate threats and change. Keeping the thought in the light, Salwan Public School Ghaziabad celebrated “Earth Day’’ on Friday, 22nd April, 2022 with a view to inspire, inform and enable them to scale up the restoration of degraded and destroyed ecosystems with enhanced quality of life, water supply and biodiversity.
Students being the future decision-makers presented thought provoking poems to help all listen to their inner calling to do efforts for deteriorating environment. Thereafter, a Nukkad Natak was staged which was based on the theme ‘Water Conservation’. It was full of action, humour and moral message which generated curiosity and thinking to call for sustainable actions. It was followed by a rhythmic medley of songs to sensitize students that the beautiful earth we have inherited is sadly being destroyed by man’s greed. The well orchestrated dance performance was a tribute to planet Earth.
The Principal of the school, Mrs. Sunita Madan urged the students to be proactive participants in conservation initiatives so that our earth can be saved from the imminent threats of destruction. The Special Assembly concluded with the children making a promise to keep their surroundings clean, conserve resources and nurture plants with tender care. The children were thus encouraged to adopt the 3Rs – Recycle, Reuse and Reduce as a way of life and made conscious of their responsibility towards the environment.
