Grand Felicitation Ceremony Honoring Toppers of Salwan Schools

On Saturday, 13th July 2024, a grand felicitation ceremony was hosted by Salwan Education Trust to honour the toppers of Salwan Schools at India Habitat Centre Delhi. The event celebrated the achievements of meritorious students, esteemed alumni, and dedicated teachers who have significantly contributed to the legacy of the Salwan Education Trust. This event aimed at acknowledging and rewarding excellence, further reinforcing their commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of dedication and perseverance.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished gathering, including trustees, chairpersons, directors, principals, teachers, and students. The welcome address emphasized the rich heritage and invaluable contributions of the Salwan Education Trust, a beacon of educational excellence and innovation. This was followed by a heartfelt prayer led by Khushi, setting a positive and pious tone for the event.

Esteemed Chairman Salwan Education Trust, Shri Sushil Dutt Salwan, whose words of wisdom and encouragement inspired the attendees, highlighted the Trust’s unwavering commitment to nurturing talent, fostering creativity, and encouraging excellence. He praised the students, teachers, and parents for their hard work and dedication, which resulted in the achievements being celebrated. The Chairman’s address highlighted the Trust’s visionary approach and its pivotal role in shaping the future of countless students.

The ceremony proceeded with the felicitation of distinguished alumni. Shri Harpal Singh, a trustee, presented tokens of appreciation and biographies of the Trust’s founder, Pt. Girdhari Lal Salwan, to the alumni. The notable alumni included Shri Rakesh Vaid (Batch of 1968), Senior Vice Chairman of the Apparel Training and Design Centre, Shri Anil Mohan (Batch of 1969), a prominent figure with extensive service in various prestigious roles, Ms. Pinki (Batch of 2004), an Arjuna Award recipient for her dedication to sports, Ms. Khyati Gulani, a distinguished Level 2 cricket coach certified by BCCI and Cricket Australia, Shri Justice Anoop Kumar Mendiratta (Batch of 1981), a judge of the Delhi High Court, Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar (Batch of 1984), General Officer Commanding of the Delhi Area, Dr. Nitish Kumar (Batch of 2011), a Senior Resident Doctor in Anaesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine, Dr. Shivanya Singh (Batch of 2011), an esteemed medical professional, Dr. Sapna Singla, MD in Anaesthesia, Architect Vipul Gupta (Batch of 2016), a shining example of the school’s nurturing environment, and Dr. Piyush Dafauti, a dedicated Resident Doctor. Each alumnus was acknowledged for their exemplary contributions and achievements in their respective fields, reflecting the Trust’s success in creating leaders and changemakers.

Academic Achievers (Class XII) included Harshit Tyagi (Science stream) with a 94.8% aggregate, Mayank Garg (Commerce stream) with a 96.5% aggregate, and Navya Yadav (Humanities stream) with a 98.8% aggregate, who was also the overall topper. Academic Achievers (Class X) included Jeet Kumar with a 99% aggregate, with a perfect score in Science and Sanskrit. Sports Achievers (Class XII) included Priyanshi Tyagi in the 10m Air Pistol event, Shreya Tripathi with silver and bronze in the 100m and 200m races, Saima Farhat, Siddhi Pal, and Tanya Tyagi with silver in the 400m Relay Race, Vani Tyagi in the National Level Yoga Competition, and Pearl Jain, Surya Tomar, and Daksh Khari in the 10m Air Pistol event. These awards are the testimonies to the Trust’s relentless pursuit of excellence and its comprehensive approach to education, fostering both academic and athletic prowess.

The ceremony also acknowledged the contributions of dedicated teachers who have been instrumental in shaping the future of students. The honored teachers included Sh. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, TGT in Social Science, Smt. Bhaskar Valli, Head of the Science Department and PGT in Biology, and Smt. Preeti Kapoor, PGT in English and NEP Coordinator. The recognition of teachers highlights the Trust’s appreciation for the pivotal role educators play in the holistic development of students.

A special announcement was made to extend a complimentary stay for the awardees and their families at the Surya Kiran Apartments in Shimla, as a token of appreciation from the Salwan Education Trust.
