The school counsellor Ms. Gunjan Mantri got an opportunity to attend a roundtable conference on “Mainstreaming Inclusive Schooling for Invisible Disabilities” on 11 December 2024 at The Shri Ram School, Gurgaon. The school showcased its groundbreaking framework for supporting students with invisible disabilities, emphasizing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), shadow teacher support, and flexible approaches such as the National Institute of Open Schooling. Parents attested to the dramatic improvements in their children’s confidence, attributing it to personalized attention and empathetic teaching methodologies. Panelists highlighted the necessity of early identification, collaborative efforts among stakeholders, and a shift toward skill-based learning. Activity demonstrations illustrated innovative practices, like sensory integration strategies, that foster peer collaboration and bolster self-esteem.
