Assessment Policy

Scaling Greater Heights....

Our program is based on active learning, learning by doing, learning by challenging and stretching in ways that promote growth.

Assessment is the key component of learning as it determines whether the goals of education are being met. It provides timely and informative feedback to students and motivates them towards self-improvement

Primary Level (Classes I - V)

Welcome to the Salwan Primary Programme!

Objective

In our endeavour to provide holistic education coupled with LEAP Programme, we at Salwan intensely work on creating an individualistic and unique curriculum to equip the young ones ready to face the challenges posed by the modern world.

To achieve such outcomes, it is important that the learning programme facilitates the discovery of a child’s innate talents and generates excitement for learning new things. Every child possesses a latent talent and potential and it is important that through their learning journey this individualism is nurtured and groomed.  Our educational approach is a perfect balance of pedagogies and methodologies that allow the child to reflect, solve, create, grow and most importantly, think.

The Curriculum

We follow a balanced curriculum comprising content knowledge, skill application and attitude building. We are mindful of children being allowed to develop at their own pace, and our curricula enables children to direct their learning. Age appropriate, psychologically mapped and suitable pedagogical tangibles are used to groom free thinking, responsible learners who are equipped with 21st century skills. The focus is not merely on loading information into young impressionable minds but equipping them to utilise this knowledge. This holistic development will groom them to create a sustainable world and become smart citizens. Our Educational Approach at a glance

Assessment

Assessments are a very important part of the learning process. However, to create joyous learning spaces, it is important to eliminate the pressure of a comparative performance. The focus of the observations is on important developmental experiences that should happen in the appropriate stages of learning and result in building existing strengths. Assessment in the Junior Classes is based on the ‘constructivist theory’. The underlying principle propagates an approach that is individualistic and directs the learner to improve  their skills. The curriculum and assessment guidelines are organized to observe the four interrelated domains: physical and motor, language, cognitive, social and emotional. Learning can be assessed over time and in context. A system of regular Formative Assessments helps us achieve this.
