Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 Years of Independence

 

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a Government of India initiative to honour and celebrate 75 years of
advanced India and the magnificent history of its culture, people, and accomplishments was
celebrated at Salwan Public School Ghaziabad with a patriotic gaiety and fervor.
Over 50 cyclists participated in the cycle rally organized by the school in the vicinity under the
supervision and guidance of sports faculty. The young children on bicycles chanting patriotic
slogans with ‘Tiranga’ promoted the message of unity and integrity.
The grand celebrations commenced with flag hoisting followed by soulful rendition of national
anthem. The gala event was graced by Chief Guest Brig. S.C. Uppal, a highly decorated,
experienced and accomplished Army Officer who has fought Indo-Pak war in 1971.
Curtain Raiser for India@75 was magnificent display of tableau on 75 years of India which
depicted the National Movement, Development in Science and Technology-DRDO, ISRO, India-
A Land of Innovations, Make in India and Military Milestones. The enthusiastic students echoed
motivation from freedom warriors, new visions, new resolutions, and self-dependence.
Furthermore, the tableau showcased the accomplishments of the independence movement to
the world.
Everyone’s hearts were moved with the delivery of the chairman Prof. Neeraj Chandra’s deeply
enriching and patriotic speech. He motivated the students to express their patriotic ideals and
showcase their grit and courage amidst all situations and challenges.
A well-staged Nukkad Natak on the occasion prompted all to bring courage, compassion and
teamwork together to take the country to momentous heights. The young enthusiastic dancers
thumped the stage with their feet and enthralled the foyer with their dazzing dance performance
of Marathi folk ‘Lavani.’ Inspiring the students to learn about ideals of great freedom fighters
and imbibing their values, the little wonders of the school presented an enactment ‘’Maati Ke
Shoorveer.’’ This was followed by a musical medley by the school choir which sang patriotic
songs that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the motherland.
Prize Distribution Ceremony was held for awarding the winners in the week-long multifarious
activities organized in the school under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The chief guest addressed
the gathering appealing to students’ nationalistic spirit and urging them to take pride in being an
Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. He also emphasized the role of youth today as
the true wealth of a country. Principal Mrs. Sunita Madan moved the vote of thanks and urged
the students to make significant contribution to help country grow and thrive. She also prompted
the students to be successful entrepreneurs and leaders in the times to come.
As part to support Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, students and staff visited the vicinity to ensure
every house is adorned with Tiranga and beautifully captured the patriotic spirit for the 75th
anniversary of India’s independence.

The students and parents together flew tricoloured kites to commemorate the occasion. Indeed,
it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect the motherland and make it a better place for
Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
The day came to an end with the distribution of laddoos to all the students and staff members.
